What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device. Tiny insulated needles enter the skin to a set depth, then release RF energy at their tips, heating the tissue from the inside while leaving surrounding skin intact.

Needle depth can reach up to about 4 mm, allowing energy to be delivered into the deeper dermis and the fat layer. This can contract tissue and reduce small pockets of fat, while the healing response encourages new collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother skin.

How we treat it at Egg Clinic

Your doctor selects needle depth and energy for each zone. Deeper settings are used along the jawline and double chin for contouring, and shallower settings are used around the eyes and for texture or pores. Several passes at different depths are often layered in one session.

Treatable areas include the full face, forehead and brows, eye area, cheekbones, nasolabial folds, mouth corners, neck and double chin. Because it acts on both the dermis and fat, it can combine tightening with subtle contour refinement.

What to expect

Following a consultation, numbing cream is applied for comfort. During treatment you will feel pressure and heat with each pulse. Treatment itself takes about 15 to 20 minutes, plus numbing time.

Afterward, skin often looks red and may feel warm, with tiny grid marks for a day or two. Mild swelling, stinging or bruising can occur. You can usually cleanse gently and wear makeup the next day, although some people prefer to wait a little longer.

Texture may look smoother within a few weeks, and tightening generally continues to build over about three months. Sessions are often repeated every 3 to 6 months, and the number needed depends on your concerns. Results vary.

Aftercare

• Cleanse gently with a hypoallergenic product
• Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and saunas or steam rooms for one week
• Do not pick at any small scabs or dry patches
• Use moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen daily
• Consider antioxidants such as vitamin C as advised

Does Morpheus8 help acne scars?

It can improve the look of some acne scars by remodeling collagen. Deep or tethered scars may need a combination approach, such as subcision or fractional laser, discussed at consultation.

Is Morpheus8 safe for darker skin tones?

Because energy is delivered below the surface, it may be used across a range of skin tones. Your doctor will adjust settings to lower the risk of pigment changes.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people see improvement after one session, while scars or significant laxity may need several. A plan is made after assessing your skin.
