What is Potenza?

Potenza is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device. Very thin needles pass through the epidermis into the dermis, and RF energy is released at the needle tips. Because the energy is delivered directly at depth, the surface of the skin is largely spared while the deeper layers are heated in a controlled way.

That heat triggers the skin's repair response, encouraging new collagen and elastin. RF energy can also act on overactive oil glands and small superficial blood vessels, which is why Potenza is used for oiliness and redness as well as scars and pores.

Potenza may be a good fit if you are concerned about:

• Enlarged or stretched pores, especially on the cheeks and nose area
• Rolling or boxcar acne scars and uneven texture

How we treat it at Egg Clinic

Every treatment starts with a skin assessment. Your physician chooses needle depth, energy level and tip type based on your skin thickness, scar pattern and sensitivity, and may adjust settings zone by zone.

Common treatment areas include the full face, the "butterfly zone" across the cheeks and nose, the front and side cheeks, cheekbone area and forehead. Potenza can also be combined with skin boosters or medical skin care when a plan calls for it.

What to expect

After cleansing, a topical numbing cream is applied for comfort. The treatment itself takes around 30 to 60 minutes for a full face. Most people describe a prickling, warm sensation.

Redness and mild swelling are common for about a day, and tiny pinpoint marks may be visible briefly. Bruising is possible. Most patients return to daily life quickly. Collagen remodeling happens gradually, so improvement usually builds over several weeks, and a series of sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart is typically recommended. Results vary from person to person.

Aftercare

• Avoid rubbing or scratching the treated skin
• Use a gentle moisturizer and regenerating cream often
• Apply sunscreen daily and limit direct sun exposure
• Skip alcohol, smoking and intense exercise on the day of treatment
• Rest well on the day of your procedure

Frequently asked questions

Is Potenza painful?

Numbing cream is applied beforehand, so most patients find it tolerable. You may feel heat and pressure, particularly over bony areas.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your concern. Pores and texture may improve with a few sessions, while deeper acne scars often need more. Your physician will suggest a plan at consultation.

Can I wear makeup afterward?

We generally recommend waiting until the next day so the tiny needle channels can close. Your care team will give specific timing.
