What is XERF?

XERF is a newer-generation monopolar radiofrequency (RF) device. Instead of a single frequency, it uses dual frequencies, allowing heat to be distributed through both shallower and deeper layers of the dermis and subdermal tissue in the same treatment.

RF heat causes collagen fibers to contract and signals the skin to produce new collagen over time. XERF also incorporates cooling and energy control features intended to keep the skin surface comfortable while heat is delivered at depth.

XERF is mainly used on the face, with a dedicated eye tip for the delicate eyelid area. Face and eye treatments can be combined in the same session. As an RF device, it primarily addresses skin tightness and quality; deeper structural lifting may call for combining it with focused ultrasound.

What to expect

After a consultation, numbing cream is applied. You will feel warmth building with each pulse, balanced by cooling. The team checks in throughout so settings can be adjusted.

Sessions generally take 20 to 40 minutes depending on shots and areas. Most people return to daily activities immediately. Temporary redness, mild swelling or tenderness may occur and typically settle within a day or two.

Some tightening may be felt early, with further improvement over two to three months as collagen remodels. The interval for repeat treatment is individualized; many patients return every 6 to 12 months. Results vary.

Aftercare

• Cleanse gently with lukewarm water
• Avoid saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for several days
• Skip exfoliating or peeling products for about a week
• Moisturize well and apply sunscreen daily
