What to expect

Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes before injection. Rejuran can sting more than some other boosters, but numbing helps. The procedure itself is usually brief.

Small raised bumps at the injection points are common and typically flatten within a day or two. Redness, swelling and minor bruising are possible. Improvement in skin quality builds gradually, and a series of about three sessions spaced around four weeks apart is often recommended. Results vary.

Aftercare

• Avoid makeup for the rest of the day if possible
• Do not rub or press on the injection bumps
• Skip saunas, alcohol and intense exercise for a day or two
• Moisturize and apply sunscreen daily
• Avoid strong exfoliants for several days
