RevLite Laser Toning

What is RevLite Laser Toning?

RevLite SI is a Q-switched laser that delivers energy in nanosecond pulses. The light is selectively absorbed by melanin, fragmenting pigment particles so the body can gradually clear them, while limiting heat to surrounding skin.

It offers four wavelengths, 532, 585, 650 and 1064 nm, so the doctor can tailor treatment to different kinds of pigment and even colored tattoos. Low-energy toning with the 1064 nm wavelength is used across the whole face to brighten and even tone, and it may also help fine texture and pores.

Who it's for

RevLite toning may be considered for:

  • Uneven skin tone and dullness
  • Freckles and sun spots
  • Melasma-type pigmentation, as part of a medical plan
  • Nevus of Ota and other dermal pigment
  • Dark circles related to pigment
  • Colored tattoo removal

How we treat it at Egg Clinic

The doctor first identifies the type and depth of pigmentation, since melasma and some other conditions need a careful, gentle approach. The laser is then passed evenly across the face at settings suited to your skin type.

For toning, low-fluence passes cover the full face. Specific spots or tattoos may receive targeted pulses at an appropriate wavelength. RevLite can be combined with other treatments such as PicoSure, Excel V or skin boosters, and with topical care if needed.

What to expect

Your consultation includes a skin examination and discussion of sun exposure, medications and past treatments. Numbing cream is usually not needed for toning, and the procedure takes about 30 minutes. Most people feel light snapping or warmth.

Mild redness or a warm feeling may appear and usually settles within hours to a day. Targeted spots may darken and form fine crusts that fall off within about a week. Brightening tends to develop progressively, and a course of several sessions one to two weeks apart is common. Results vary, and pigment can recur without sun protection.

Aftercare

  • Moisturize frequently and apply sunscreen every day
  • Do not pick or remove any small scabs
  • Makeup is fine the same day; avoid exfoliating products
  • Pause retinol and whitening ingredients until your doctor advises
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise for a few days

Frequently asked questions

Can RevLite toning help melasma?

Low-energy toning is sometimes part of a melasma plan, combined with topical treatment and strict sun protection. Melasma can be persistent and may recur, so a doctor assesses it first.

Is there downtime?

Toning usually has very little downtime, with mild redness for a few hours. Targeted spot treatment may leave small crusts for about a week.

Why are several sessions needed?

Pigment is cleared gradually, and gentle repeated sessions help lower the risk of irritation while tone improves over time.
