What to expect

After consultation and marking, local anesthesia is used to keep you comfortable. The procedure takes about 10 to 40 minutes depending on the area and volume.

Change is visible immediately, though it looks most natural once initial swelling settles. Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur and usually subsides within 3 to 7 days. Less common risks include lumps, asymmetry or infection, which your physician will discuss with you. Some people choose a touch-up later, and longevity varies by product.

Aftercare

• Avoid massaging or pressing firmly on the treated area
• Avoid lying on your side or stomach for 2–3 days if the area is affected
• Skip saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise for a few days
• Keep injection points clean
• Contact the clinic if you notice increasing pain, redness or warmth
