Skin Botox in Sinsa, Seoul

Skin botox, sometimes called microbotox, places very diluted botulinum toxin in the superficial layers of the skin rather than deep in the muscles. It may help refine the look of pores, oiliness and fine lines while keeping expressions natural.

Treatment time: 15–20 min

What is Skin Botox?

Standard botox relaxes facial muscles to soften expression lines. Skin botox uses a much more diluted solution injected densely, at roughly one to two centimeter intervals, between the epidermis and dermis.

At this shallow level, it may reduce oil and sweat gland activity, make pores look smaller and relax the fine muscle fibers that pull on the skin surface. It is also associated with a smoother texture and, for some people, a subtle tightening effect. Egg Clinic offers several toxin brands, including a Korean option (Newlux), Coretox, Xeomin and Allergan, which differ in purity and in how likely the body is to build resistance.

Who it's for

Skin botox may be suitable for people with:

  • Enlarged pores and oily skin
  • Fine crepey lines on the cheeks, forehead or around the eyes
  • Rough or uneven texture
  • Neck lines and early laxity
  • Redness associated with flushing, in some cases

How we treat it at Egg Clinic

After numbing, the doctor makes many tiny superficial injections in an even grid over the area. Keeping the toxin shallow means it acts mainly on the skin and small skin-level muscle fibers, not on the larger muscles of expression.

Treatment areas include the eye area, forehead, brows, under-eyes, neck, nasolabial folds and the full face. The doctor chooses the toxin brand and dilution to suit your skin and treatment history.

What to expect

The consultation covers your goals, any past toxin treatments and medical history. Numbing cream is applied, and the injections take about 15 to 20 minutes.

Tiny bumps and mild redness or swelling may appear and usually settle within about a day. Effects begin to show within several days and typically peak around two weeks. Because effects fade over time, sessions are commonly repeated about every two months. Results vary.

Aftercare

  • Do not rub, massage or press on the treated area
  • Avoid saunas, alcohol, smoking and vigorous exercise for 3–5 days
  • Wash your face and wear makeup from the next day
  • Apply sunscreen when outdoors
  • Tell the clinic if you notice unusual weakness or asymmetry

Frequently asked questions

Will it make my face look frozen?

Skin botox is diluted and placed superficially, so it is not designed to stop facial expressions. Rarely, mild temporary stiffness can occur.

Which toxin brand should I choose?

Brands differ in purity and resistance profile. If you have frequent toxin treatments, the doctor may suggest a higher-purity option such as Xeomin or Coretox.

Who should not have skin botox?

It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions or active skin infections. The doctor will review your history.
