What is Medical Skin Care?
Medical skin care refers to in-clinic treatments that go beyond a spa facial. They use clinic-grade exfoliants, ampoules and devices chosen after a skin assessment. The aim is to remove dead skin cells, blackheads and congestion, restore hydration, and support the skin's own regeneration and barrier function.
Because it keeps the skin healthy and balanced, medical skin care is often used alongside laser toning or other procedures. For example, vitamin C care can support pigment treatments.
Who it's for
Medical skin care may suit you if you have:
- Blackheads, whiteheads or clogged pores
- Mild acne or acne-prone skin
- Dullness, rough texture or dehydration
- Redness and sensitivity
- Pigmentation concerns alongside laser toning
How we treat it at Egg Clinic
After checking your skin type and concerns, we select one or a combination of programs. Options at Egg Clinic include:
- Cleansing and exfoliation: Aqua Peel, scaling, PHA peel, Pink Peel and Black Peel
- Hydration and brightening: ultrasonic care, vitamin care and Velvet Mask
- Calming and recovery: soothing care, LED regeneration light and Intense Ultra (redness, regeneration or acne modes)
- Targeted care: Ethosome PTT for acne or brightening, and Skinceuticals premium care
What to expect
A typical visit takes around 40 minutes and follows a sequence of cleansing, exfoliation, active care and a calming finish. Most programs feel comfortable and need no numbing. Peels can cause brief tingling.
Mild redness may appear and usually fades within a day. In rare cases, sensitive skin can react to an ingredient, so tell us about any allergies. Skin often feels smoother and more hydrated right away, and ongoing benefits come from regular care. Weekly sessions are common during an active program, and results vary.
Aftercare
- Avoid peeling or scrub products for a few days
- Use moisturizer and regenerating cream regularly
- Apply sunscreen before going outdoors
- Avoid products that upset your oil and moisture balance
- Contact the clinic if you notice signs of an allergic reaction
